Ready, Set, Grow - Nature's Classroom

Welcome to Ready, Set, Grow!

At any of our sessions you will meet Laura (Founder of Ready, Set, Grow) and/or Jess. We are both ex-primary school teachers and mums of two. We found our love of the outdoors when we began our journeys as parents and saw first-hand the positive impact that outdoor activities had on our own children.

We are passionate about what we do and believe that shows throughout our sessions. We have over 12 years of experience working in both mainstream and specialised provisions and have an extensive knowledge of the outdoor curriculum. We aim to cater for the needs of all children and have a wealth of experience of working with children with SEMH and SEND.

Ready, Set, Grow - Outdoor Learning

Outdoor Learning

Ready, Set, Grow understands the importance of outdoor learning and its tremendous benefits for your child's development. We believe that learning should extend beyond the four walls of a classroom, and the great outdoors provides a wealth of opportunities for young learners.

Research has shown that outdoor learning not only enhances academic performance but also promotes physical fitness, mental wellbeing, and social skills. By immersing children in natural environments, they are given the chance to develop their problem-solving abilities, creativity, imagination and critical thinking skills.

Outdoor learning also helps to foster a sense of curiosity and exploration, allowing children to engage with their surroundings on a deeper level.

Ready, Set, Grow - Outdoor Activities

Exploring Nature

As part of our approach, we offer a range of outdoor learning experiences and activities. Our outdoor groups provide children with an opportunity to learn about the cycle of the year, cultivate their own produce, and develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment. They also have the chance to learn through play and have lots of fun! Our sessions are catered towards all children and are inclusive of those with SEMH and SEND needs. We also offer sessions that can be accessed for children who may be home-educated (aged 12 and under).

Here at Ready, Set, Grow, we encourage outdoor exploration and play, make time for natural spaces, and help you to engage in activities that promote environmental awareness. Our sessions run all year round, so please ensure that you are dressed appropriately. Our allotment sessions are stay and play, so parents/guardians are required to supervise children at all times.
